Tom Six, born August 29, 1973, is a Dutch filmmaker best known for his production of The Human Centipede film series. Six came up with the idea for the movie during a scene in a television show he was watching. The scene, involving a pedophile, caused Six to joke that ‘They should stitch his mouth to the ass of a very fat truck driver as a punishment’ at which point the joke stuck into his mind, thus producing the holy movie that is The Human Centipede.
Six has written and directed three other films, Gay in Amsterdam, Honeyz, and I Love Dries. However, it was the success of The Human Centipede that inspired to continue on. Six, during the production of The Human Centipede 2 compared the two movies and referred to the first film as ‘My Little Pony’ in comparison to the upcoming film. Shortly after making The Human Centipede 2 he continued on with the final installment of the series and then finished the trilogy with the last movie, coming with the idea that the trilogy would be 'one long movie' and come to resemble a centipede of sorts.

The Human Centipede begins with Lindsay and Jenny, two young American tourists in Germany who are stranded on a stormy night after their car pops a tire. The women, having no other option in the freezing temperatures, abandon the vehicle in attempt to seek aid. They come across Dr. Josef Heiter who welcomes them into their house with shelter and promises to call for help. While the pair wait Heiter fakes a phone call to a towing company and puts sedatives in the water he later brings the women. After having served them their drinks, Lindsay and Jenny fall into a sedative sleep. The pair awake bound to hospital beds in Heiter's lair and are accompanied by another victim, Katsuro. Heiter goes into detail explaining his plans for the trio, describing his dream of creating a human centipede after having originally created a dog centipede. Lindsay attempts an escape only to result in failure, angering Heiter enough for him to declare her as the middle portion of the centipede as punishment for her actions, describing how the middle of the centipede experiences the most pain. Heiter performs the surgery, an operation that requires for him to remove the front teeth of Lindsay and Kenny (the center and end of the centipede), sever the ligaments in each person's knees so they are forced to crawl, and mutilate the butt and anus of Katsuro and Lindsay. Heiter then connects his centipede sews the mouths of the hostages to the anus of the person in front of them, giving them a Chesire like stitching.
Once completed, Heiter takes to his centipede like a pet. He spends time with his creation outdoors in attempt to train them to walk and fetch. It is at this point that Katsuro, unable to hold himself anymore, defecates into Lindsay's mouth, much the the pleasure of Heiter. His operations begin to come to a halt as trouble arises; Katsuro has free speech and constantly screams at the doctor while Jenny begins to die from blood poisoning. Alerted by a neighbor, detectives Kranz and Voller arrive at Heiter's house to question him about Lindsay and Jenny who have been reported missing and were seen at his house. The victims, taking a chance at Heiter's distraction, attempt an escape. Suspicious of Heiter after some heavy questioning the detectives leave to obtain a warrant. Upon stumbling upon the escaped centipede Heiter is injured by Katsuro, and though the chase persists the escape eventually fails. Katsuro commits suicide after declaring his deserved fate, leaving Lindsay and Jenny stranded whilst Heiter engages the detectives in a battle which eventually leads to his death. Jenny succumbs to her blood poisoning and dies, leaving Lindsay to sob helplessly between the two deceased victims.

RELATION TO EVOLUTION AND GOD COMPLEX
![Picture](/uploads/6/8/5/7/68579125/1256211.jpg?336)
The Human Centipede focuses on God Complex, a prominent theme throughout the movie. Heiter considers himself above medical science and is, in all aspects, a mad scientist. He displays no empathy for the victims he takes and does to them what he pleases. Fascinated by the darker sides of life, Heiter takes an unnatural interest in monstrosities and the pinnacle of human evolution. He takes it upon himself as omnipotent creator to craft his vision, imprisoning and torturing his victims. Heiter sees no fault in his obsessions and works diligently on perfecting his monsters at the expense of everyone. He re-purposes for his own satisfaction and is arrogant in his designs, needing a need for overall control and experiencing great pain when his creation refuses to do his bidding. His lack of control over the outside world leads to his downfall, as he has no merit in controlling the actions of others and thus, falls from his 'Godly' position.
